This presentation aims to educate administrative professionals about microaggressions and their effects in the workplace, and equip participants with practical solutions to address and prevent them.
Takeaways:
Terminology: We will define and explain microaggressions, providing examples to ensure a clear understanding. We will also explore different types of microaggressions, such as micro assaults, micro insults, and micro invalidations, and their impact on individuals. In addition, the presentation will provide an overview of the vast impact microaggressions have on many people, usually underrepresented groups.
Roles: Participants will learn that individuals’ roles can change rapidly and unpredictably. This can occur due to various factors, such as new information being presented, unexpected challenges arising, or even a shift in the group’s dynamics.
